The magic number? Nothing beats a cold pint of premium Czech lager at 5% alcohol on a sunny afternoon after a long ride...or does it? How about a high strength weiss beer from the low countries? Or a northern ale at 4% from a local brewer. They each have a place, much like our 4,5 and 6 inch trail bikes - but which goes down (and up) our hills best is a tough call. Is four inches enough for UK trails or do riders need five or six inches...?

It's a fluke that Kona renamed last year's King Kikapu the Four Supreme but we'll take the breaks when we can. It gets 100mm of front and rear travel, which isn't four inches on the money but it does have slacker geometry than we normally see on four-inch bikes...
